career

Singer, composer and lyricist, Célia Forestier charts a singular path between jazz, folk and improvised music. Trained at the École Nationale de Musique de Villeurbanne and then at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, she settled in Burgundy in 2020, became a member of the Crescent collective, co-founded the Compagnie Champrouge in 2024 and joined the Collectif Murmures (Mathias Levy, Ellinoa…) in 2026. She leads her own projects while collaborating with musicians from both electric and acoustic worlds: Camille Maussion (Flocon Volcan), Leïla Soldevila (Line & Borders), Bruno Ducret, Pierre Tereygeol, Baptiste Ferrandis, David Bressat, Elvire Jouve…

Her voice, pure and airy, takes its place as one instrument among others, in service of songs where melodies take unexpected turns and forms slip away. After Komorebi – Go., she releases J.U.NE (Joy Underneath) in 2026, her second album under her own name: an entirely acoustic quartet of voices and strings, where four voices and four instruments intertwine into a single sonic texture. Her writing is intuitive, shaped by a love of raw sound, unexpected harmonies and improvisation, and deliberately leaves the borders open between song, folk, jazz and contemporary music.
