Peggy Buard Pianist

Peggy Buard

career

Peggy Buard has forged a unique path at the intersection of the arts. After studying fine arts before entering the conservatory, she deepened her musical practice there by specializing in jazz, making music her primary field of exploration. Nourished by a multifaceted artistic journey, she has developed a personal language in which improvisation plays a central role, driven by a keen attention to sound material and textures. Her exploration extends notably to the prepared piano, whose expressive and timbral possibilities she explores.

Today, Peggy is involved in several projects with varied aesthetics. She founded and co-leads the duo “Peggy Buard & Émilie Chevillard,” a space for sensitive dialogue where jazz, minimalism, and influences from traditional music converge. Their world, both intimate and open, is built on listening and the exploration of free forms. She also performs “Ritual Tones,” a minimalist work by Alan Regardin written for positive organ and three wind instruments, and performs with the “Azadi Quartet,” a multi-influenced ensemble blending Eastern music, jazz, electronic, and classical, alongside singer and multi-instrumentalist Camille Saglio.

Alongside these projects, Peggy has performed with numerous jazz and improvised music ensembles. She is also involved in multidisciplinary productions, composing and performing works for film, theater, and dance, as well as for shows aimed at young audiences. Her work reflects a constant desire to break down barriers between artistic disciplines and explore new sonic territories.
