An unclassifiable figure on the French music scene, David Chevallier enjoys blurring the lines by following only his desires and instincts. Drawing inspiration from jazz, early music, and sophisticated pop, he is known for his ability to bring different idioms together and synthesize them into a whole that reflects his own style.
Created in 2013, David Chevallier's trio has since performed around a hundred concerts in France and abroad. After “Standards & Avatars,” which offered a highly personal take on jazz standards, followed by “Second Life” and its sounds evoking an imaginary jazz-folk, the trio returns with a third opus entitled “ReSet”.
Drawing on the experience accumulated over the years and tours, exploiting the strong interaction between the three musicians, and the reflexes and shared intuition that have become second nature, David Chevallier composed “ReSet” with the aim of creating an exciting playground for the protagonists and a captivating experience for the listener.
"These twelve years of concerts have allowed us to forge a real band sound. It's a process that takes time, as if each member of the band gradually integrates the sound spectrum, the dynamics of the others, their habits, and their reflexes. After such a long journey, a number of creations, and numerous concerts, it's just easy to play together, without falling into a routine. We still have just as much fun." David Chevallier
